A Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee is an individual appointed by the United States Department of Justice, Division of the United States Trustee to administer bankruptcy cases for the benefit of the creditors. A case Trustee does not represent, or have any obligation to represent, the interest(s) of those filing bankruptcy. The Debtor's attorney has an obligation to represent the Debtor. Therefore, if you have filed a bankruptcy and are represented by an attorney, call your attorney with any questions that you may have, including the status of your discharge.
